Watch our video: ‘Merry Christmas’
The Empire Fighting Chance charity, which is dedicated to changing young peoples lives in the deprived communities of Bristol, is delighted to announce the launch of its Christmas charity single ‘Merry Christmas’. Watch it on YouTube and download it on iTunes from Saturday 6th December.
All royalties will be used to fund innovative programmes which use boxing as the Hook to raise aspirations and increase confidence in the young people most at need in our city.
Our programmes are geared towards making young people champions in life, fulfilling their true potential, staying clear of crime and violence and progressing in education and employment.
The single has been produced by Laid Blak, Bristols famous ‘street soul’ band. Written by Joe Peng and co-writer Emma Walker, it features uplifting reggae style vocals from Joe and Felix and is backed by Kizzy Morells youth choir, Studio 7. Also on the track is the tuneful sax of James Morton, Bristols Ambassador for music. As with all Laid Blaks music the song will you get you moving and smiling, and the message is close to all of our hearts; let’s make Christmas less about material possessions and more about family, friends and the community.
The song will be performed live on 21st December at the Regional Youth Music Awards (RYMA)
